The trailhead is in the Bill Allen parking lot (about 9k when you turn onto Route 66). When you enter, turn to your left and park on that side. The start is just past the outhouse, staight ahead.
This was a really nice hike. The morning was a bit overcast but still a very nice day … it did rain later in the day, once we were back home. I do recommend doing this hike from the left. Although the climb is very steep, I feel, it is better to get it over with early plus it is easier to climb up then try going down … there are areas that are quite steep.
