Uneventful

So the trip out was a long drive. We stopped a few times, I fell asleep a few times and we made it with no issues. As I sit here writing this I think to myself … ‘damn, am I tired’. In the hotel room, we slide the curtain off the rod and CK managed to break one of the two chairs in the room. How? He sat on it. He’s ok, a little embarrassed but ok (he wanted me to make sure everyone understood the chair broke because it was old and rickety, not because he is overweight – which he is not, but allowed me to tease him endlessly).

The weather here is fantastic, hot and blue skies. It was a little dicey coming out, but it really cleared up nicely. I hear back home it’s possible thunderstorms.

We did a little shopping around, found the meeting place for tomorrow and grabbed dinner from The White Spot that is next door. The motel is nice, certainly not the most lavish but it’s clean and the people who work here are super nice, even after the chair breaking incident (the manager assured me that I would not lose my damage deposit).

We took the time to get all our gear together and organized so we are ready for tomorrow. Our plan is to leave the car here and bike the almost 3km to the rendezvous for our shuttle, so we don’t have to worry about parking in an area we are no so sure of.

Here’s hoping my butt holds out!

Oh and we ran into Ralph and Alice in Armstrong … we had a nice conversation.
