So, got back about midnight on Saturday, September 11th … haven’t been able to write anything as it has been very busy at work as well as my mom and her partner ‘Gary’ were evacuated from their home (Mayfair Place) as Enmax thought it would be a good idea to blow up the building …… well maybe not ‘blow’, but pretty close. Anyway, have been dealing with that with the help of Mona.

We had a great time hiking, found three that was worth doing. The first is the Skunk Cabbage Boardwalk which is a plant that is supposed to smell like skunk … it was late in the season so there was no smell – that is fine by me. The next was The Cedars Boardwalk, lots of very tall Cedars which were really quite impressive. The last one was The Loops, it was the old railway that crisscrossed along the highway. CK is very knowledgeable and I learned a lot about the history of this particular site.

We headed back to Calgary, stopping frequently for breaks.

I would like to give a great BIG thanks again to the parents for the week I spent with them, it was great and I loved it. Also, thanks again to CK for inviting me – ‘dude, anytime you want company to the Island ……….. you know where to find me’. 🙂

The next big trip is Mango Bay in Barbados with Nina
