A couple of nice days

It has been a couple of days. On Saturday, CK and I headed over to pick up the much wanted Vodka, unfortunately, they were not open. After, when I finished with the tears, CK mentioned getting the wine and mead I wanted (Stacy, I got you the Agria and Mona, I got you the Cyser). When we got back to the house, I called the Vodka Distillery and left a message (there still will be Vodka) and CK wanted to go swimming. Although the weather was nice, I wasn’t sure how cold the water would be. Well, let me tell you, it was FREEZING, says the girl with the wet suit. I toughed it out and once we got used to it, it wasn’t too bad, however, it was still cold. I could only take it for about a half an hour before I had to get out. We got back to the house and I just had to have a hot shower to warm up. Later in the evening we had dinner and visited … after, CK took me to the the local pub, where we had a couple of drinks and played pool – we played four games … I won one but only on a technicality. The pub is where the big ‘Send Off’ is, this is where they say goodbye to all the tourists as they leave on the last ferry. We plan to attend this.

Sunday was another nice day. I was craving a London Fog (Earl Gray tea, steamed milk, hot water and vanilla) so we drove over to the Cove. The tide was out so we were able to walk along and see all the star fish and other little animals trapped on the land. We got back to the house to visit with Peter and Suzanne as they were leaving today. Everyone wanted to go for a walk along the shore (as mentioned the tide was out) and I found some real treasures. If you remember the blog from last time, I talked about ‘Snuffy’ the elephant seal that here and was out of his element. Well, guess what we found, sunning on the beach … ‘Snuffy’. He was a large, impressive and a little stinky, elephant seal. I took a ton of pics and videos. There was this guy that got a little too close and Snuffy let him know it, I got that on video. Later, when we got back to the house, Peter and Suzanne packed up and we said our goodbyes. A short while later, I was feeling a bit hungry and craving onion rings so we went to Red’s (restaurant) and got me some. It was nice, when we got back, to sit outside and enjoy them. However, the enjoyment was short lived as a few Wasps started horning in on my food so I gathered it up to go inside, but not before I got stung on my finger. It really hurt and although I can’t really compare it to giving birth to a child, I suspect is was pretty close to the same pain. While I spent the afternoon suffering, CK helped his dad with a few projects around the yard. The rest of the evening was pretty quiet, we had dinner later and I went to bed early.

It is now the next morning and my finger is doing much better. It had rained overnight and still raining now, looks like the day will mostly be spent indoors. I got a phone call yesterday from the Distillery and we have an appointment today between 4 and 4:30pm … I am very excited. Later in the afternoon is the big ‘Send Off’ of the tourists at the pub which we will be going too. Looking forward to it.
