Yesterday was an amazing day of kayaking. I have to admit that I was a little nervous (who am I kidding, I was afraid of tipping), but after getting into the kayak and moving around a bit in the shallow water, I thought I was ready for the trek. We crossed the bay to the other side and kayaked down the shoreline to the other side and across to an Island called Floral Island. It is a tiny Island that we were able to explore. A family in a run-about showed us where the Elephant Seal was named ‘Snuffy’. Apparently, Snuffy is not suppose to be here, up this far north … he arrive a couple of months ago and no one seems to know where he came from. He is enjoying the other Harbor Seals … and when I say enjoying – I mean for lunch. He is quite impressive.
After 4-hours we made it back home. My burn is coming along nicely.
We were so exhausted that CK took a 4 to 5 hour nap while I went to the Co-Op and did a little shopping. Also, my speedometer on my bike wasn’t working so later, CK’s dad and I took it to the bike shop where the guy fixed it for me.
Later in the evening, after supper, CK’s mom and I went to take in some of the festival … there were violinists. It was great and very entertaining.
This morning, CK and I went for a 5k run over at the Provincial Park … a truly beautiful place to walk and run.
I can’t believe that in a couple of days we have to head back to civilization … I could spend another week here easily. I have been able to post pics, check them out under the 2010 Vancouver link to the left.
FYI, the weather today is suppose to be in upwards of 26C ……………………… sorry 🙂
