Day 8…a little hike

Howdy from Sunny Wegberg…

Today we visited with Jens and Janine. It was a quiet morning, just kinda hanging around being a little lazy. In the afternoon (while Herbert and Jens watched soccer – their team lost), the girls (Brigitte, Janine, and myself) went for a little walk through a nature preserve (at least, that is the closest English word). It was a very wooded area, really quite beautiful. We spotted a few birds and also a small animal that I was able to get pretty good pics of as well as a video. It looks like a small beaver but I am at a loss as to what it is.

As we were nearing the end, we came across a field with goats. It was funny because as soon as I called out to them, them came a runnin’ over. They came almost right up to the fence but not all the way to it and there is a reason why…you see, the fence was electrified, however, that didn’t stop me from trying to pet the goats. Oh man – I seriously have issues – and YES, I did get zapped.

We went home after (but first visited the site of my Aunt and Uncle’s gravesite as well as a cousin) and order pizza for supper.

After Jens and Janine left for home, Herbert, Brigitte and I watched a Bond Movie on TV – The World Is Not Enough. The movie was in German (and I would like to add, without any English subtitles) so I had a difficult time following the dialoge – however, watching Pierce Brosnan for two hours was certainly no hardship.

We are meeting Jennifer in Aachen tomorrow afternoon for some shopping. This is where I can get Lindt chocolate for dirt cheap. hehehehe – more chocolate.

The pictures for today are posted on my Flickr site.
