So this time next week, I will be at home…I cannot believe that one week has already gone by. I have found that although the Jet Lag is gone, I am going to bed really late (between midnight & 1am) and getting up around 10am.
Jens and Janine came to visit. While Herbert and Jens cleaned the pool, getting it ready for the winter, the girls spent the time inside reading and playing Nintendo DS.
It was such a beautiful day that I really wanted to get out and take a walk over to the grocery store (and yes, bought a little bit). I was given very clear instructions, a cell phone and lots of luck. I started out pretty good and made the first turn where I was suppose to…however, in my travels, I fell a little off course and decided to explore other areas of the neighborhood – who am I kidding..I got lost. Now, for those of you who know me, know I have absolutely no sense of direction…I missed the second turn and ended further down many streets than anticipated. I was getting a little nervous as I really didn’t know where I was (and I really didn’t want to make the call to Herbert telling him that I was lost – I would never have lived that one down)…however, there was a sigh of relief when I found that I just circled around and came to the grocery store from the other side.
The way back was much better. I took a lot of pictures that are now posted on my Flickr site…you will see the link under photos (Germany 2009).
We spent the evening researching an Italian Chardonnay (dry) and also a delightful Red (sweet) from Dernau.
From what I understand, Brigitte and I are going to take a walk tomorrow to a mill and explore some of the forest areas around Wegberg.
