Day 2: WOW…what an incredible day!

So…we got up this morning about 8:10am and leisurely got ready. After yesterday, we felt great today – awake. We went to the graveyard of my Aunt and Uncle who just recently passed away. I have to tell you I was quite impressed about how well the plots were taken care of…lots and lots of flowers & candles. After, we went to a city called Mönchengladbach (I dare you to say that 10 times fast) and spent part are the day shopping.

After we were done (Stacy bought a pair of shoes)…we headed to another Aunt’s house to visit (this was the first time meeting her). I got to see the house my dad grew up in. There were tons of family members that I got to meet…it was really quite emotional.

We then off, back to Herbert & Brigitta’s home where we had a fantastic supper. We had wine after supper and finished the evening off with ‘grappa’. Now, let me just say, if there was anything living inside me – it is dead now. WOW…can we say liquored up in less than 10 minutes.

We are going to Köln tomorrow on the train to do more shopping and see the Cathedral it took 600 years to build. It will be another great day.

PS…Stacy thought the special German beer was Gut and Wunderbar and tomorrow she gets to try the beer brewed only in Köln. In case you didn’t know, she really likes beer…she gets excited everytime she sees ‘biergarten’.
